Sharon Osbourne to Replace Brandy on "America's Got Talent"?

Could Sharon Osbourne be replacing Brandy as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent?

Inside sources connected to the production have told me that producers of America's Got Talent will be replacing beleaguered judge Brandy, currently embroiled in legal problems-- both criminal and civil--stemming from her involvement in a fatal car crash last year, with British reality TV veteran Sharon Osbourne.

AGT's producers are said to be disconcerted by the overwhelmingly negative publicity that Brandy's problems have generated and have decided that they no longer want her attached to the show, particularly given the criminal investigation going on into Brandy's, er, state of mind while driving.

Sharon Osbourne is no stranger to the reality world, having come from her own docu-soap (The Osbournes) and her own eponymous daytime talk show. Additionally, she already has an ongoing relationship with America's Got Talent executive producer Simon Cowell from her days as a judge on Cowell's UK-based Idol ripoff The X-Factor.

Despite the fact that adding yet another Brit to a reality show focused on showcasing American talent seems a bit, well, odd, her always outrageous behavior and larger-than-life personality will add another dimension to the panel and provide another foil for fellow judge David Hasselhoff and make the show a much bawdier affair, especially when combined with new host Jerry Springer.

Stay tuned.

The second season of America's Got Talent is expected to return to the schedule this summer.

What's On Tonight

8 pm: College Basketball (CBS); 1 vs. 100 (NBC); WWE Friday Night SmackDown (CW; 8-10 pm); Grey's Anatomy (ABC); House (FOX)

9 pm: Identity (NBC); Wife Swap (ABC); The Wedding Bells (FOX)

10 pm: Law & Order (NBC); 20/20 (ABC)

What I'll Be Watching

8 pm: Spoons on BBC America (11 pm ET).

It's another episode of British sketch comedy series Spoons, in which the cast transform themselves into a series of character based on "fabulous young urbanites" in their most painful situations.

10 pm: Clatterford on BBC America (9 pm ET)

It's the second episode of Jennifer Saunders' new series Clatterford. On tonight's episode, Sal is slowly growing more accustomed to living alone.

10:40 pm: Little Britain on BBC America (9:40 pm ET)

Another chance to catch the antics of David Walliams and Matt Lucas as they skewer stereotypes in this hilarious sketch comedy show. In tonight's episode, Don and Pat visit their favorite Indian restaurant.

AGT is dumb but Sharon would add a different class to the proceedings. No one cares about Brandy anyway and I think the ratings would increase with Sharon O to the mix. You know she would wrangle Ozzy to guest star or something.

Sharon is actually an awesome judge, I think she's the most fair of the 3 while being the most fair. Piers is too harsh and Hasselhof is too easily swayed, like the time he was impressed by the stripper just because she was dancing in front of the Knight Rider car. She was great in season 2 and now she's returning for tomorrow's premiere of Season 3, I think she was a great choice.
