Welcome to the "Jungle": A Sneak Peek at Brooke Shields on "Project Runway"

In the latest cross-promotional opportunity on the series, Brooke Shields, late of NBC's femme drama Lipstick Jungle ( and previously of FX's Nip/Tuck) , guest judges on this week's installment of sartorial showdown Project Runway . Will the designers be able to please the stylish star with their fashionable designs for powerful business women? Or will they end up stranded in the jungle with too many animal prints and 1980s accessories? Shields is no stranger herself to high-end fashion herself or drama, as shown by this clip, where she pays an "unexpected" visit to the designers at Parsons. And if that weren't enough, another sneak peek at this week's episode of Project Runway , as Tim checks in on the designers in his own inimitable style: Catch Project Runway tomorrow night at 9 pm on Bravo. What's On Tonight 8 pm: NCIS (CBS); Summer Olympics (NBC); Beauty & the Geek (CW); Wipeout (ABC); House (FOX) 9 pm: Big Brother 10 (CBS); Reaper (CW

Channel Surfing: "Lost" Paychecks, "Fringe" Comic, "90210" Shuffle, and More

Good morning and welcome to your Monday morning television briefing. We have to go back... for more money! Lost castaways Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly have started renegotiating with ABC Studios for more coin; the actors who play Jack and Kate respectively on the ABC hit drama currently make about $150,000 an episode. However, like many a can of worms before it, the renegotiations have now begun to spill over onto some other actors on the series, who have now had their agents calling the studio as well about securing bigger paychecks; the supporting cast makes between $80-90,000 an episode. ( Hollywood Reporter ) Speaking of contract snafus, Nikki Finke says that there's controversy brewing behind the scenes at the CW's new 90210 spin-off. Tori Spelling has allegedly dropped out of the teen drama after discovering that she was being paid significantly less--$10-20,000 an episode--than her former Beverly Hills 90210 cohorts Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth, who are rumore

NBC Slots One-Hour "Office" Episode for Post-Super Bowl

One of the big questions going into next season was the whiff of confusion emanating from NBC about just what they would do with their prime post-Super Bowl slot. After all, it was originally intended to be the launch pad for that fabled spin-off of The Office . (You know, the one that had no concept or cast nailed down.) Since then, however, Greg Daniels and the writing staff of The Office have instead decided to develop, not a spin-off, but an entirely separate workplace comedy series starring Amy Poehler, which has no relationship to The Office whatsoever, though--like the untitled spin-off--doesn't seem to have a concept yet either. With the Amy Poehler project sidelined somewhat with Poehler's pregnancy, I have been extremely curious to see just what NBC would do with that plum post-Super Bowl timeslot and figured that, whatever it might be, that slot would be given to something that Daniels and Co. are working on. Cut to the here and now and it turns out that I'm rig

Link Tank: TV Blog Coalition Roundup for Aug. 8-10

Televisionary is proud to be a member of the TV Blog Coalition. At the end of each week, we'll feature a roundup of content from our sister sites for your delectation. This week, I waxed poetic about the latest Peggy-and-Pete-centric installment of Mad Men , easily the one of the most complex, vibrant, and vivid series on television right now, bemoaned the fate of the DoctorDonna on the fourth season finale of BBC import Doctor Who , discussed behind-the-scenes drama on NBC's new fall drama My Own Worst Enemy and the departure of series lead Jonas Armstrong from BBC's Robin Hood , and looked at new projects from Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan , as well as the putative plot for the two-hour Battlestar Galactica event slated to air on Sci Fi in 2009 . All this, plus a look at Pushing Daisies ' sophomore season and discussions on the season finale of Bravo's Flipping Out and the Olympic-centric latest challenge on Project Runway .

Sci Fi Lifts Veil of Secrecy on "Battlestar Galactica" Two-Hour Event

Sci Fi has finally gone ahead and announced the Battlestar Galactica two-hour "event" that it had been dancing around the past two months without officially confirming a concept, air date, or cast. (Just don't call it a two-hour movie; it's an "event" apparently.) BSG writer/co-executive producer Jane Espenson ( Buffy the Vampire Slayer ) will pen the script for the BSG two-hour event (ahem) and BSG cast member Edward James Olmos will direct. The still-as-yet-unnamed event is scheduled to air sometime in 2009, after the conclusion of Battlestar Galactica 's fourth and final season which will air its final ten episodes in 2009 as well. (So still no air dates there either. Pity.) On board to star so far: Dean Stockwell, Michael Trucco, and Aaron Douglas, with others to be named at a later time. I wouldn't be surprised if Olmos pulls double duty on the event and makes an appearance as well and I'd expect to see another Cylon turn up as well. My gu

"Robin Hood" Without... Robin Hood?

What's Robin Hood without... Robin Hood? BBC America has announced that it is co-producing Season Three of British series Robin Hood , which currently filming in Budapest and airs in the UK on BBC One. The series will return to the digital cabler in 2009, likely after it wraps its run across the pond. However, much is being made of series lead Jonas Armstrong's decision to vacate the series at the end of the third season, in an episode described as an "explosive, nail-biting finale." While no one at BBC One is saying that the series will come to an end at the end of Season Three, it's hard to fathom a series surviving after the exit of its title character. (Although, The Hogan Family did emerge from the ashes of Valerie and Monarch of the Glen continued on without laird Archie. Can anyone think of any others?) "Robin Hood is more than a man," said a spokesperson for BBC One in a statement. "He is a hero and a legend - so how the legacy unfolds a

Designers Go for the Gold on "Project Runway"

Before getting into specifics about this week's episode of Project Runway ("Rings of Glory"), I want to pause for a brief second to urge tanorexic Blayne to get some help. Like serious psychological counseling. Anyone who is tanning themselves every other day has some deep mental issues to deal with and he seemed to be suffering from withdrawal in this week's installment as he bemoaned the lack of self-tanning into the production's rigorous schedule. I think we're talking intervention time here, people. The constant tanning may have affected his design sense, his language abilities (it could explain the use of the invented suffix "licious" after every word), and his very sanity. But in all fairness, I thought that this week's challenge--delivered to the designers by guest judge/Olympian Apolo Anton Ono--was an innately tricky one as they were tasked with creating an outfit for the US Olympic team's female members to wear during the Opening C
