"We're Going on Vacation, Baby": Sneak Peak at Footage from the "Lost" Season Five Premiere

Blood tests. Nefarious lawyers. Hastily grabbed cash. Tom Irwin.

What do these things all have in common? For a start, they all appear in a scene from the upcoming Season Five premiere of ABC's Lost, airing January 21st.

In the first full footage from Season Five to date, we're treated to a glimpse into the daily home life of Kate Austen and Lil' Aaron, if their typical day just happens to include receiving a court order to provide blood samples. Yes, it seems as though someone has tipped off law firm Agostini & Norton about Kate not being Aaron's actual mother... and now they have obtained court permission to take samples from both Kate and Aaron to prove (or disprove) a DNA relationship between the two. (And the lawyers? Naturally, they refuse to disclose the identity of their client.)

Don't have a Dharma password? You can watch the clip in full after the jump.

Kate, naturally, slams the door in their faces--including partner Dan Norton (Tom Irwin) who likes to carry out the firm's dirty work, apparently--and tells them to come back with the cops... and then she ferrets out the stash of cash she hid in the wardrobe and a gun and packs their bags. (As she walks out of the house, she walks right past an adorable framed photo of Jack and Aaron.)

So just who tipped off the lawyers? Could it be that Jack had a crisis of conscience? Or, far more likely, is this just the opening salvo on a new war front as Sun makes her play? After all, she knows that Kate isn't Aaron's mother and, unlike Jack, has no romantic feelings for Kate. Plus, we did see Sun meet up with Charles Widmore in the Season Four finale. Could it be that the two have formed an alliance of sorts and that she is supplying him with inside information about the Oceanic Six?

The wait until January just got a little more difficult.

Lost returns January 21st on ABC.

Yikes! Looks like there's some serious turbulence ahead for Kate and Lil' Aaron. And we wouldn't have it any other way! Can't wait for the season to start!

I can't wait! Great scene. I think you're right and it's got to be Sun who tipped off the creepy lawyers. Not good. Not good at all.

Agreed. Unless Jack suddenly came to his senses and alerted Claire's family. After all they are related.

If this makes her want to pack up her things and go back somewhere, I guess we can't discount that this could be part of Ben's "i have some ideas" about how to get everyone to agree.

I love Lost. Love it, love it, love it. But the show really should stay away from the law. The trial in Eggtown was farcical from a legal perspective. And this is too: Kate and Aaron have a liberty interest in their bodily integrity, and it would violate their due process rights for a court to order them to submit to blood tests without prior notice and an opportunity for a hearing (which would, among other things, allow them to learn who was seeking the test). The only possible excuse for this is if the lawyers don't really have a court order, but are bluffing.

I still can't wait for the premier. But this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Actually, it sounds like he says "Agrostini & Norton" with an "R" in the first name.

It's definitely AGOSTINI. Great clip though I do hope that the lawyers are bluffing and don't actually have a court order and just want Kate to run...

There is no doubt this was set up by Ben, causing Kate and Aaron to run, so Jack can offer them a trip home to the island.

Katie Lee Packs Her Knives: Breaking News from Bravo's "Top Chef"

The android has left the building. Or the test kitchen, anyway. Top Chef 's robotic host Katie Lee Joel, the veritable "Uptown Girl" herself (pictured at left), will NOT be sticking around for a second course of Bravo's hit culinary competition. According to a well-placed insider, Joel will "not be returning" to the show. No reason for her departure was cited. Unfortunately, the perfect replacement for Joel, Top Chef judge and professional chef Tom Colicchio, will not be taking over as the reality series' host (damn!). Instead, the show's producers are currently scouring to find a replacement for Joel. Top Chef 's second season was announced by Bravo last month, but no return date has been set for the series' ten-episode sophomore season. Stay tuned as this story develops. UPDATE (6/27): Bravo has now confirmed the above story .

BuzzFeed: Meet The TV Successor To "Serial"

HBO's stranger-than-fiction true crime documentary The Jinx   — about real estate heir Robert Durst — brings the chills and thrills missing since Serial   wrapped up its first season. Serial   obsessives: HBO's latest documentary series is exactly what you've been waiting for.   The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst , like Sarah Koenig's beloved podcast, sifts through old documents, finds new leads from fresh interviews, and seeks to determine just what happened on a fateful day in which the most foul murder was committed. And, also like  Serial  before it,  The Jinx may also hold no ultimate answer to innocence or guilt. But that seems almost beside the point; such investigations often remain murky and unclear, and guilt is not so easy a thing to be judged. Instead, this upcoming six-part tantalizing murder mystery, from director Andrew Jarecki ( Capturing the Friedmans ), is a gripping true crime story that unfolds with all of the speed of a page-turner; it

BuzzFeed: "The Good Wife Is The Best Show On Television Right Now"

The CBS legal drama, now in its sixth season, continually shakes up its narrative foundations and proves itself fearless in the process. Spoilers ahead, if you’re not up to date on the show. At BuzzFeed, you can read my latest feature, " The Good Wife Is The Best Show On Television Right Now," in which I praise CBS' The Good Wife and, well, hail it as the best show currently on television. I won’t qualify that statement in the least — I’m not talking about the best show currently airing on broadcast television or outside of cable or on premium or however you want to sandbox this remarkable show. No, the legal drama is the best thing currently airing on any channel on television. That The Good Wife is this perfect in its sixth season is reason to truly celebrate. Few shows embrace complexity and risk-taking in t
