Talk Back: BBC America's "Being Human"

While many of us were at Comic-Con this weekend, BBC America launched their latest sci-fi tinged series, Being Human, on Saturday night.

While you read my advance review of the first three episodes of Being Human a while back, I am curious to know how many of you tuned in to catch the first episode and what you thought.

Did you enjoy the heady mix of horror, comedy, and angst that the series projected? Did it feel even a little like a British Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the POV of the monsters? Did you root for Russell Tovey's George? Did you feel sorry for Lenora Crichlow's ghostly Annie? Where do you think the story is heading? Did you find the concept innovative or derivative? What did you think of the cast and their characters?

And, most importantly, will you tune in again this Saturday to watch another episode?

Talk back here.

Being Human airs Saturday evenings at 9 pm ET/PT on BBC America.

I was very impressed with it, but for some reason couldn't bring myself to watch past the 2nd episode. I can't explain why.

I enjoyed it immensely. I went back & read your advance review which explains why there was no detailed setup pilot episode - just the brief summary at the top of the hour. However, I feel I got the idea and was glad that I wasn't mired in the hows & whys. These points can be brought out throughout the series, IMO. If they do or not remains to be seen.

Russell Tovey is brilliant in this role. George's fumbling & squeeling just makes me laugh & heightens the contrast between his real personality & his alter ego.

I'm looking forward to watching future episodes!

I love it! I had the opportunity to see the entire series of Being Human a few weeks ago and I thought it was amazing.

I did notice a similiarity to BtVS in its deft blend of humor and drama, as well as its well-written dialogue.

I can't wait for season two!

I do wish they would have shown the original pilot but it all made enough sense to be enjoyable and I am looking forward to seeing more.

I stumbled upon "Being Human" by accident but was immediately intrigued by the premise and the characters. I love science fiction and anything about vampires. I enjoyed it so much that I watched it again later Thurs. evening. I hope the next episode is just as interesting. The actor who plays Mitchell is gorgeous as well as believable. George's character is very "human" and the ghost, "Annie", (I believe) was wonderful. Thanks, Tonya
