First Look: "Dollhouse" Season Two

Written by Jace | Thursday, August 20, 2009 | 8 comments »

FOX has released nine promotional images for Season Two of Joss Whedon's metaphysical action drama series Dollhouse, which returns to the lineup on Friday, September 25th.

The nine images can be found below and depict not only a group shot for the series regulars for Season Two but also solo shots of Eliza Dushku (Echo), Tahmoh Penikett (Paul Ballard), Dichen Lachman (Sierra), Harry Lennix (Boyd Langton), Enver Gjokaj (Victor), Olivia Williams (Adelle DeWitt), and Fran Kranz (Topher Brink), all of whom seem to be posing against the backdrop of a bare-bones warehouse set.

Except that is for Echo, who is depicted alternately lounging and posing with a gun in a psychedelically yellow and hot pink room that looks like a windowed jewel box. Hmmm...

Look below to take a peek at just what might lie ahead for the Actives and their handlers next season on Dollhouse. Let the guessing games begin...

What a contrast. The warehouse shots feel very cold and stiff while the photos of Echo in the yellow room are overwhelming and headache-inducing. I feel like they could have come up with something more clever!

I thought it was pretty cool. I love the shot of Echo in the yellow room with the gun!!! Not sure whether the wearhouse stuff is real or not

    Where's Amy Acker?

I can't wait!!! I loooove Eliza Dushku and the whole Dollhouse gang! Can't wait to see what happens in Season 2. Seriously, love anything by Joss Whedon, the man's a genius.

Amy Acker is on another show thsi fall. She may be in a couple of episodes. Now Miracle Laurie on the other hand is also missing. I know she has been on the set according to her own Twitter account.

Cool pics, if somewhat unsurprising. Aside from Oliva's odd hairstyle, everyone looks great, and the "doll in a dollhouse" visual pun was worth a giggle or two.

To answer an earlier question: Despite her increasingly significant role in the canon, Amy Acker isn't a series regular; she's a guest star. Thus, no promo pics of her. I kind of hope her new series fails so that Joss can make her a regular on Dollhouse.

Neither Miracle Laurie nor Amy Acker are series regulars on Dollhouse next season. Thus, no promo photography of either. Acker is contracted to recur on Dollhouse for Season Two and is a series regular on ABC's new series Happy Town.

The way i see it, the whole bright "doll in a house" theme for eliza's photo also shows the personality of her character. Going from all bright and cheery to deadly assassin in the blink of an eye..
